The charming three stars Hotel Villa Canu***, which is in fact an old, typical Campidano style country house is situated in the historical centre of Cabras and only 100 meters from the lagoon and 150 meters from the excellent restaurant Restaurant „Il Caminetto“. The Restaurant Il Caminetto is situated in the old town centre of Cabras, close to the lagoon that bears the same name. It provides a sea cuisine with a lot of traditional local dishes, like for example: Merca (boiled mullet in salt water preserved with a palustrine plant called “tzibba”), Burrida (ray slices with spicy tomato sauce), Bottarga di Muggine (dried mullet Roes), Smoked Mullet, Anguidda Incasada (eels with Pecorino, a typical strong Sardinian Cheese), Fregola Sarda con Arselle (typical Sardinian noodles with mussels), Mullets Roes Pâté and Oziadas (fried sea anemones). Il Caminetto’s wine cellar provides a large assortment of Sardinian wines; among them we emphasize the Vernaccia of Cabras (a white dry wine that is a classic aperitif or a dessert wine). Nature, Culture, Sport, Archaeology and folk festivals The Hotel is situated in the middle of the Marine Protected Area Penisola del Sinis - Isola di Mal di Ventre, undoubtedly one of the most attracting and significant areas in the Province of Oristano.
