Pisa Guide
Pisa is a city in Tuscany, central Italy, on the right bank of the mouth of the Arno River on the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is the capital city of the Province of Pisa. It accommodates the more important airport of the Region, the “Galileo Galilei”. And it is center very three university institutions. Between the more important monuments of the city there is - the Public square of the Miracles, declared patrimony of the humanity - the cathedral constructed in marble between 1064 and 1118, in Romanesque style, with its portali in bronze of Bonanno Pisano and the pulpit of Giovanni Pisano. In the public square there is the characteristic hanging Tower of XII the century, high 55 meters, that it immediately acquired its characteristic inclination after the beginning of its construction. To notice the presence at least three hanging towers, one, most famous, in Public square of the Miracles near the extremity north of Maria centers them Via Saint, beside the dome; the second one constituted from the bell tower of the Church of Saint Nicholas, to the opposite extremity of Via Saint Maria, close to the Lungarno; third, to half road of the lungofiume of the Piagge situated in the east part of the city, it is the bell tower of the church of Saint Michele of Barefoot (in the this case also church is pendant).
